Description

Plainsman M340: mid-temperature, smooth, plastic, semi-vitreous, buff burning, native functional stoneware.

Plainsman M340S: A cone 6 stoneware, the speckled version of M340. 

Plainsman M370: Middle temperature, smooth, very plastic, white-firing, semi-vitreous, refined material body for functional stoneware.

Plainsman MSCULP: Heavily grogged version of M340.

Plainsman M390: Mid-temperature, finely ground and smooth, very plastic, semi-vitreous, dark red-brown burning native body for functional ware.

Plainsman P300: Mid-temperature, medium plastic, vitreous, off-white burning, kaolin-only porcelain.

Plainsman Coffee (cone 5): Smooth, plastic, very dark burning medium fire stoneware. Recommended to fire to cone 5 max.

Laguna WC401, B-Mix 5: Its smooth, porcelain texture is a pleasure to throw and form, and it fires to a cream color in oxidation.

Studio Clay & Firing Policy

To ensure consistent firing results and help us maintain our kilns, members are required to either purchase clay directly from the studio or pay a firing and glaze material fee for outside clay.

Studio Clay

We offer a curated selection of clay bodies, including:
M340, M340S, M370, MSCULP, M390, B-Mix, P300, and Coffee.

Outside Clay

Members who wish to bring in clay purchased elsewhere must inform the studio and receive approval in advance before use.
A firing & glaze material fee applies to all outside clay.

Firing and glaze material costs are covered through studio clay purchases or the outside clay firing fee.

 

Once an order is placed, we will notify you by email when your clay is ready for pickup, typically within 1–2 days.
